Family, forgiven's place!

In August, the blog goes on vacation and taking advantage of the presence of Pope Francis, in Portugal, for the World Youth Days, we share a text, attributed to the Pope, which reflects the essence of the family:

«There is no perfect family.

We don't have perfect parents, we aren't perfect, we don't marry a perfect person, nor do we have perfect children.

We have complaints about each other. We disappoint each other.

Therefore, there is no healthy marriage, nor a united family without the exercise of forgiveness. Forgiveness is vital to our emotional health and spiritual survival. Without forgiveness, the family becomes an arena of conflict and a stronghold of hurt.

Without forgiveness, the family becomes sick. Forgiveness is the cleansing of the soul, the cleaning of the mind and the freedom of the heart.

Those who do not forgive do not have peace in their soul or communion with God.

Grief is a poison that intoxicates and kills. Keeping a hurt in your heart is a self-destructive gesture.

Those who do not forgive become physically, emotionally and spiritually ill.

For all these reasons, the family needs to be a place of life, not of death, a territory of healing, not of illness, a stage of forgiveness and not of guilt.

Forgiveness brings joy where hurt caused sadness, and cures where hurt caused illness.”
